diversity & inclusion

Introduction

We believe that a diverse workforce is key to building a leading company driven by high-performing talent. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect and continually working to build a diverse, inclusive and accessible workplace for all employees.

We recognise that an inclusive and collaborative work environment is critical to productivity, innovation and employee well-being. Diversity brings a wide range of perspectives and experiences, strengthening decision-making and enabling us to operate effectively in a fast-paced and global environment.

Our workforce represents over 70 nationalities across more than 40 locations, reflecting the global nature of our business. Approximately one third of our employees are women, and we continue to support the progression of employees across the organisation based on merit, capability and performance.

We continue to take steps to attract and retain a diverse workforce. This includes broadening recruitment efforts across regions, supporting flexible working arrangements where appropriate, improving parental leave and supporting progression across the organisation.

All of these efforts contribute to building a workforce that reflects the diverse markets and communities in which we operate, while providing opportunities for individuals from different backgrounds to succeed.

The continued growth and long-term success of Mercuria depends on our ability to attract, develop and retain talented employees. Creating a respectful, inclusive and diverse workplace—where individuals feel valued and empowered—is both a responsibility and a key driver of performance.

Our commitment is supported by our Business Principles, Code of Conduct and internal policies, and reinforced through training programmes that ensure employees understand and apply these values in their day-to-day activities. We aim to create an environment where diverse perspectives are actively encouraged and contribute to decision-making across the business.

Policy of equal opportunity

Mercuria is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing fair and inclusive opportunities across all stages of recruitment, training and employee development.

All employees are treated equally and with respect and dignity, regardless of race or nationality, religion or belief, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.

To ensure diversity, inclusion and equity are embedded across our business, the values we expect from our employees form an integral part of our employment framework. Employees are evaluated solely on merit and ability throughout recruitment, selection, training, development and promotion.

Any acts of discriminatory conduct are taken seriously and addressed in accordance with our policies and governance framework.

Fair treatment

All employees, whether full-time, part-time or temporary, are treated fairly and with respect. This applies across all employment-related decisions, including:

  • Recruitment, selection, promotion and job advertisement
  • Terms and conditions of employment
  • Training, career development and progression
  • Grievance and disciplinary procedures
  • Performance management
  • Workplace relationships
  • Treatment of employees at the end of employment

Mercuria maintains a comprehensive whistleblowing framework that enables employees to raise concerns without fear of retaliation. Employees also have access to management across the organisation, supporting open communication and ensuring that issues can be addressed appropriately.

At Mercuria, we continue to work to maintain a respectful environment free from discrimination and harassment, where all individuals feel supported and able to contribute.
