Our employees

Introduction

At Mercuria, we recognise that people are our most important asset. Building strong and enduring relationships between the company and our employees is central to our philosophy, and underpins our strong reputation and continued success.

We aim to create an environment where employees can develop, contribute and perform at their best. This includes offering competitive compensation and benefits, supporting continuous learning and providing opportunities for career progression across functions, geographies and business lines.

We also place strong emphasis on collaboration, facilitating knowledge sharing and experience building across departments and offices, reflecting the global and interconnected nature of our business.

Mercuria employs over 1,400 people across more than 40 locations, representing over 70 nationalities. Our workforce spans trading, operations, investment and support functions, providing the expertise required to manage complex commodity markets and global supply chains.

Mercuria operates with a relatively flat organisational structure, where senior management remain closely connected to teams and actively encourage open communication. Across our offices, leadership works alongside employees in open environments, supporting accessibility and engagement across the organisation.

We are committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive workplace where employees feel valued, heard and able to contribute. Our policies and practices, supported by our Code of Conduct and governance framework, ensure that individuals can work without experiencing harassment or discrimination, and that all employees are treated fairly and with respect.

Developing skills and capabilities is a key focus as our business evolves. We support employees in building the expertise required to operate in increasingly complex markets, including across energy, metals and critical minerals. This includes ongoing training, learning opportunities and opportunities for mobility across regions and business lines.

We also recognise the importance of employee well-being, engagement and retention. Many of our employees build meaningful careers within Mercuria, contributing to a strong base of experience and continuity across the organisation. Creating a supportive working environment is essential to sustaining performance, retaining talent and enabling long-term growth.

Our people are central to how we manage risk, operate in complex markets and deliver results for our stakeholders. We expect all employees to uphold our values in their work and interactions, ensuring consistency in behaviour and decision-making across the business.

While we continue to evolve and improve, we remain focused on maintaining a workplace that reflects our values, supports our employees and enables long-term success.
